Rep. Mark Pocan on No Labels

No LabelsRep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) on “No Labels” (I think we already knew.)

No Labels is slick, and I got duped. But no other current or newly elected member of Congress should fall for its shtick. No Labels is a centrist, corporate organization working against Democrats with dark, anonymous money to advance power for special interests.

Congressman Mark Pocan represents Wisconsin’s 2nd District and is the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

And Congressman Tom Reed was an early joiner of No Labels.

No labels funding comes from someone other than a George Soros’ funded organization. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Labels
Funding has to come from somewhere. These are at least Americans who earned their money legally from American Capitalism. (I wish it were true free market Capitalism, but I digress)

Tom has long been associated with “No Labels”. More recently, he is co-chair of the “Problem Solvers” caucus. Tom is one of the most stridently partisan members of Congress, so his claims to eschew labels (he doesn’t), to be bipartisan (he isn’t), or to have solved problems (he hasn’t, unless the wealthy paying taxes was a problem) ring false. Who funds No Labels (and its subset Problem Solvers)?…According to Wiki…..

    Funding
Although No Labels bills itself as a bipartisan group, The Intercept reported on November 29, 2018, that there are several SuperPACs affiliated with No Labels which do not advertise or publicize their links in any way, and that a large portion of their funding comes from wealthy donors with a long track record of donating to conservatives and Republicans.[53] Among these donors are Louis Bacon, who in 2016 donated $1.1 million dollars to the Republican Party, as well as investor Nelson Peltz, a major donor to Donald Trump. [53] The secret SuperPAC ties to No Labels were independently verified by The Chicago Sun-Times

So why do Democrats, Rep. Gottheimer for example, stick with No Labels? Is Rep. Gottheimer, unlike Rep. Pocan, blind to the contradictions, or is he a Dino?

Bill. Why would you think that all Democrats think the same? It is true that the GOP has become pretty much a “religion”. But the Dems have always invited a variety of points of view. Which is why it is so hard to keep them in line for voting. No reason to demand ideological “purity”.
