It (disruptive government) causes a lot of people to not react the way you’d typically see DC folks and the establishment react. That type of disruption coming at it with what some people feel is chaos, some people feel is disruptive, and that’s what it is about.–Tom Reed
Tom Reed’s ideas reported in the referenced article lightly edited:
- the status quo is bad, disruption is good.
- Tariffs and protectionism are going to create jobs.
- Short term pain, long term gain.
- I’m willing to go down that (painful) path.
- It’s the President’s style… (so it must be ok)
- Change the course of America’s future with anxiety and some fear.
Pain felt by others doesn’t concern Tom Reed.

It seems to me that the people who talk about “short term pain, long term gain” are always the ones who never feel the short term pain.
Tom Reed was an early supporter of Trump. He supports Trump’s racist, xenophobic agenda. He has never spoken up against the vulgar, crude language and anti-law enforcement texts of Trump. I hope voters take that into consideration when they vote.

Pain is here and now. Any gain is illusory. Woody Guthrie called this “Pie in the sky when you die.”

A good video of the entire Governor Cuomo / Cynthia Nixon debate that did not get much coverage in upstate NY.

The debate was on TV I think it was channel 8. Although it had some technical difficulties.I was not impressed with Nixon.
