That’s a conversation we need to have.—I don’t want to talk about it.
By having the hard conversation, but disrupting the conversation, that’s the biggest asset he (Trump) brings to Washington D.C.–whatever Donald says.
He (Trump) is not going to be able to agree with these folks (the NRA) on these issues, but it’s about having the dialogue and actually coming to a solution that people can come together.–whatever the NRA says.
He supports second amendment rights..–whatever the NRA says.
When you start banning weapons, when you start taking away second amendment rights, that’s a freedom, freedom is hard.–whatever the NRA says.
Reed will take these concerns from his constituents back to Washington D.C.—constituents’ concerns will be forgotten before Tom leaves the room.

I contact Mr Reed’s office once in awhile to ask for his specific opinions on a variety of issues. None of his aides seem to be able to answer any questions about where he stands on any issue (even those already posted on his website). They always tell me they will get back to me. No one ever has. You have to understand that Reed takes care of his constinuency. His constituency is: NRA, ALEC, Mr Trump. That’s it.

I have read many complaints about Tom’s staff being unable or unwilling to answer questions about his views. Here is an example:
I have called several offices and asked several staffers: A). Does Tom Reed support arming teachers in schools? and B). Will Tom Reed continue to take donations from the NRA? They assured me they would call me back with those answers, but unfortunately its been over a week and I have heard no response.
Sometimes staff, perhaps exhausted, will “play dumb,” claiming to have no clue as to the caller’s concern.
