Are attractive young women the new thing?

Does “tres Brooklyn” really mean young and cool in Paris, or only in the NY Times Travel Section?

*****

Are attractive young women the new thing? Here are some indications of that:

  • Daytime TV hostesses and commentators.
  • Trump’s three  wives, all fashion models.
  • Omarose Manigault-Newman, Hope Hicks, Ivanka Trump

On the other hand, experienced politicians like Susan Collins, Diane Feinstein, and Nancy Pelosi may be old hat. When Tom Reed in his political propaganda attacks Nancy Pelosi, is he emphasizing her age and appearance rather than her competence? Did her age cost Hillary Clinton the election?

Does  male adultery no longer matter to “value voters?” Is the “metoo” movement a reaction to youth-worship? One wonders.

  1. Here is one of the few times I disagree with you. Reed attacks Pelosi and Clinton because they were either in power or trying to be voted into a powerful office–not because they are old or because of their looks. They could have looked like Kim Kardashian and I’m sure Reed would still have attacked them.

Reasoned disagreement is rare, and I do welcome it. How will Tom Reed attack Linda Andrei or Tracy Mitrano, if one of them is the nominee? I suspect the attack will include images altered to make them look older than they are.

Team Reed has already revised their “Extreme Liberial” website–and yes, they are having fun with the pictures and quotes out of context. I don’t know if age is the focus of their attacks, yet. They are hiding from issues? Here’s a link to an article about the site (with a link to the site embedded in the article). http://www.ithaca.com/news/reed-campaign-revives-ithaca-liberal-tag-in-new-ad-campaign/article_4f27ce4a-1f2b-11e8-9ff2-3f1430282a8f.html

Tom consistently prefers to smear his opponents rather than affirm his own views. For example, the advertisement cited in the FLT article falsely claims that his opponents oppose tax cuts avoiding any discussion of which special interests the tax bill he favored actually benefit.

Tom has an old game plan and he is sticking to it. Tell outright lies about your own positions. Tell outright lies about your opponent’s positions. Repeat over and over: 2nd Amendment, 2nd Amendment, 2nd Amendment. Then send out those glossy mailings showing Tom carrying an old lady from a burning building. Works every time.
Anyone who runs against him had better be tough and have a very thick skin. Nice won’t beat him.
