Paul Ryan And Top Republican Lawmakers Could Reap Personal Windfall From New Real Estate Tax Breaks
Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) — who sits on the House Ways and Means Committee that wrote the lower chamber’s version of the tax bill — is married to a partner at a real estate LLC, R&R Properties, LLC, from which he and his wife receive income of between $15,000 and $50,000 per year. Reed’s wife is also a partner at R&R Resource Recovery, LLC, the Reeds’ debt collection family business, which specializes in recovering medical debt. The business provides the Reeds with between $15,000 and $50,000 a year in income.–International Business Times
Tom Reed isn’t the only member of Congress with a conflict of interest–the IBT article has a list. There is nothing new in the IBT article about Tom Reed–people of NY-23 must be quite familiar by now with Reed’s conflicts of interest. Surprisingly, as of yet it hasn’t prevented Tom Reed from winning reelection.

Marsha Blackburn was (to me) the surprise on this list–who knew she had that kind of wealth? But you know who else has a lot of real estate wealth? Right: family Trump. Who didn’t see this coming?

Tom Reed’s claim, that there is no conflict of interest because his business is managed by his wife, is as phony as Trump’s claim, that he has no conflict of interest because his business is managed by his sons. Remember that astonishing news conference a year ago at which Trump’s lawyer explained that she had been hired to make sure there was no hanky-panky? Yeah, right.

Democrat Congressional members will also benefit right along side teh GOP Congressional members. Dems will vote “no” for show and politics and then laugh all the way to the bank when the Bill is passed.
Tell us what the Dem candidates have to say.
