    Looks like most of us agree that the future does not look promising.

    I was stymied on the “radically” reform tax law—at first I thought that radically meant doing away with the loop holes for the deep pocket-ers and I thought that a republican controlled congress would never do that. Then they might radically change it to put MORE of the burden on the middle and low wage earners—and I would hope that saner heads would prevail. We are looking at a presidential election year coming up. The GOP wouldn’t want to flub that up again. Nothing of great consequence will get done.

    Republicans have talked much about tax reform as a priority. Proposed reforms would lower corporate tax rates and simplify income tax filing for individuals. At 52 votes so far, no one responding to the poll thinks the 114th Congress will make radical (sweeping, significant) changes.
