What’s wacky in NY-23?

jdsPeople always clap for the wrong reasons.–J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

What’s phony about Tom Reed? Even when he says he stands for something he doesn’t mean it. When he campaigns, he wraps himself in the flag. When he votes, he explains only when he is embarrassed and wants to explain his vote away.

  • Renames POs for vets, but votes against veteran’s interests.
  • Votes to rename POs, but won’t vote to keep them open.
  • Celebrates his dad’s military service as if it were a credit to himself.tom at cleaners
  • Pretends to work.
  • Poses with gun and dog, but won’t vote to protect the environment.
  • Poses in waders, but votes against clean water.
  • He quietly votes for war, but hasn’t explained his vote.
  • Claims to honor and support vets, but votes against their interests.
  • Wants to reform our taxes, but keeps his return secret.
  • Touts membership in NO Labels, but continues with finger-pointing while failing to renounce “pledges.”
  • Claims to be bipartisan on flimsy grounds.
  • Benefited from Social Security himself, but opposes funding benefits for future retirees.
  • Has a spotty record on health care–voted against AHC 40+ times without offering an alternative other than the status quo ante.
  • Celebrates hard work for others while hardly working himself.
  • Opposes relief from high interest college loans while milking his low interest loan decades after graduation.
  • Claims to be a fiscal conservative, but casts a conservative vote only when it suits him.
  • NFIB awardAccepts phoney awards from dubious organizations for unspecified actions.
  • Visits museums for photo ops, but calls spending on museums wasteful.
  • Posts postcard views of autumn leaves, but favors littering woods with well pads.
  • Posts pictures of colorful sunsets likely due to pollution from coal burning which he favors.

voteWhat’s wacky in NY-23? Our Representative is a phony. We have voted for Tom three times already; if we do it again, we will deserve what we get–most likely more of the same. Get your oar in–vote!

Not much left to say except – I totally agree.

There are seldom examples of his honesty, and constant examples of his all-for-me philosophy. If only his supporters would think, instead of react.

Perhaps it would be better if we would pay qualified candidates to run possibly with a bonus for education and relevant experience. If there were ten candidates running instead of two, might people vote for the person rather than the party?
