False advertising in #NY23

Would anyone wish to be represented by Tom Reed whose campaign is based on phony petitions, false news, fake websites, and self-serving lies?

Even Republican Governor Bobby Jindal knows he’s with stupid.

The GOP–once the Party of Lincoln, more recently the Party of the Rich, the Stupid Party, the party seeking to “restrict the vote, the Party of NO–now is the Party of Fake News and False Web Sites. Would anyone wish to be represented by Tom Reed whose campaign is based on phony petitions, false news, fake websites, and self-serving lies? Can we expect honest representation from Tom, should he be reelected, after he runs another dirty campaign? Can we expect Tom to support campaign finance reform when he benefits from a flood of laundered, out-of-state PAC money? No way.

Tom Reed’s intern stalks Martha in Owego.

The NRCC is identified as responsible for the fake websites in the fine print at the bottom of the pages; if wary viewers scroll down they may notice it. Occasionally we read reports that these fake web sites have been taken down, but that isn’t true. Even after a rash of unfavorable publicity, the GOP hasn’t stopped cheating.

I do not wish to be represented by Tom Reed primarily because of his incredible lack of wisdom, self serving, damaging votes, and, his evident lack of ability to live up to his oath of office to all who live in the NY 23rd district.
His obvious lack of respect for his opponent ( or anyone who is not in agreement with him ) is just an outward manifestation – no one gets between Tom Reed and his opportunities to get richer.

The Buffalo Update link brings up the increased the County’s spending by 60% over the 12 years that Martha had been on the Legislature. In reality, the increase was 58%–close enough to 60%. As reported in an earlier New NY 23rd blog, that the state and federal mandates that the County legally have to pay has also increased by 60%. Martha has been an advocator of reducing the mandates. Increased spending does not equate to “big” spending”. Consider the lack of services if there was a 0% spending in 12 years.

Reed, who is employed by government, chooses to run against government. He wrote:

“Our problem is not that people do not pay enough in taxes; it is that Washington SPENDS too much. Our taxes come from hard work — and while tax reform is central to this debate, the conversation must be had within the context of Washington’s SPENDING problems and the negative effect that current tax laws have on creating new opportunities for all. We must work together to make responsible decisions on government SPENDING. Each taxpayer dollar SPENT must be carefully examined to make sure it is being used in the most effective way possible — it’s only fair. … We work hard in upstate and we deserve to know that the federal government won’t raise our taxes to pay for Washington’s SPENDING problem.”

Reed’s words are incoherent, but the thrust is clear–Reed would make government the enemy so he can tear it down.
