Reasons (not) To Vote Republican

The following has been circulating around the internet. The author has not been identified.

Thinking about voting republican in November 2014?

  • If you want to attempt to repeal the ACA for the 52ND time, while wasting valuable time and money – then you need to vote republican
  • If you are a woman who is happy making .77 cents per dollar compared to your male counterparts – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to take away food stamps from military families who need them to live – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to target military pensions before making rich people and rich corporations pay their fair share in taxes – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to allow oil companies who have made historical profits in the past 5 years to continue to rip us off at the pump and get 4 billion per year in subsidizes – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see the XL pipeline cut through the US while not providing anything but environmental hazards and the potential for the everyday taxpayer having to clean up the mess – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see the elite and richest Americans continue to hide money in offshore accounts where they avoid paying tax on this money – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to continue to see CEOs expand their salaries and bonuses to billions while the rest of us live in poverty – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see the US face a shutdown every time the debt ceiling arises – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see Congress not work 239 days out of the next year – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see a continued war on women’s health issues – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see Americans lose their homes and not be able to feed their families because they are not allowed to draw their unemployment insurance during times of severe hardship – then you need to vote republican
  • If you feel like a woman should not be able to abort the child of a rapist – then you need to vote republican
  • If you like to see news commentators consistently make up lies and spin them into negative promotion to discredit the President of the United States – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see Americans remain in poverty while the republican Congress doesn’t even show up for work and still gets paid astronomical hourly wages – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see Wall Street crooks and Bankers continue their criminal behaviors free from prosecution – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see the middle class continue to join the poor while the richest of Americans expand their personal wealth beyond realistic expectation – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see your representatives concentrate more on their campaign reelection than the problems of this nation – you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see Americans out of work with no positive influence to create jobs while the Speaker of the House has an infrastructure bill from the President that would put millions of people to work immediately and spin off millions of additional support jobs at the same time – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see a republican congressman waste another 14 million dollars of taxpayer money on witch hunts that have provided nothing but baseless accusations – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want many more years of billionaires paying less tax rates than their secretaries – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see immigration reform remain on the back burner with no action taken – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to hear the same whines about Benghazi after the republicans accusations have been proven to be baseless – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see Citizen’s United continue to allow the rich to purchase elections throughout the country, leaving your voice virtually worthless – then you need to vote republican
  • If you want to see rich corporations create one environmental disaster after another and make the taxpayers pay the expense to clean their messes as mistakes are made – then you need to vote republican

Now can you honestly say that you would be proud to vote republican to continue this behavior? After 30 years of being a registered republican I can no longer support their cruel treatment to American families. I invite you to join me in taking our country back. Vote blue in November 2014 and 2016.

“If you want to see Congress not work 239 days out of the next year – then you need to vote Republican.” It isn’t clear that this can be blamed on Republicans or cured by voting for Democrats–the cause is improved transportation that allows members of Congress to live at home rather than in the Capitol. Once it was possible to go home even to California, the pressure to take every other week off affected both parties. One possible cure would be to end the myth that Congress is in session during “home work weeks.” If the President could make between session appointments whenever Congress took a week, off, members would be less eager to go home.

Harry wrote me that it wasn’t the author. He was trying to find who originally posted the article.

Hmm, then perhaps he shouldn’t have used his name as author, and declared he wished it to be shared. Thanks for the information – I’ll be more careful next time.

I thought Harry Davis wrote it also, as his name follows the post. Nonetheless, it’s on the mark. I re-posted it a few days ago.
