REP. REED HIGHLIGHTS WASHINGTON WASTE: TENS OF THOUSANDS SPENT ON MINIATURE DOLL MUSEUM
Issues: Economy and Jobs
Tom says our national debt of 17 trillion is easily explained —The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) recently announced nearly 30 million in grants to museums across the nation. Denver’s Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys was awarded 40 thousand, 0.1% of the total, and Tom complains. Here are a few IMLS grants that Tom didn’t mention:

One of the functions of government is to promote science, technology and culture. We spend very little on that in the US compared to what we spend on weapons systems, which is also a proper function of government. ($30 million in grants to all US museums….$137 million PER fighter jet , the F-35 Fighter Jet…$137 million PER plane. (according to the GAO)).
