Ithaca Gun Buy Back Program

The Ithaca Journal reports that the City of Ithaca will have a gun buy back program on Saturday, January 5 from 8:30-4:30 at two locations in Ithaca, Ithaca Fire Department and Tompkins County Airport Fire Department.

Tompkins County Vice-Chairman Nate Shinagawa commented on his facebook page:

“Thank you to Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick for organizing this firearms buy-back program, as well as District Attorney Gwen Wilkinson for granting amnesty and immunity to those returning illegal or unregistered firearms. This is definitely a step in the right direction and something that communities can immediately adopt in other places.”
