Thursday night, the House of Representatives approved HR.6684, The Spending Reduction Act of 2012. Within the bill were provisions to cut funding for Meals-On-Wheels and Food Stamps. It passed, 215-209. Twenty-one Republicans, and all One hundred eighty-eight Democrats voted against the bill. Three Democrats and three Republicans didn’t vote. Two hundred fifteen Republicans voted for it. Our Congressman, Rep.Tom Reed voted for the bill.
This bill will probably NOT be approved in the Senate. The President will NOT sign this bill into law.
