You Might Get A Call From The DCCC

The DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) has become very aggressive in holding vulnerable Republican House members accountable to their constituents.  Last week they started a new website . The name refers the Republicans who are trying to hold the Middle Class hostage. The website showcases a petition we can sign titled:

Add your name to tell Speaker Boehner and House Republicans

to allow a vote on middle class tax cuts.

Besides the new website, the DCCC has organized an automated phone call campaign that target 35 of the most vulnerable Republican Representatives. Since our Congressman, Rep. Tom Reed is in that group, you might be receiving one of these calls. Incase you don’t, the script for the automated call is:

Hi this is Julie calling on behalf of the DCCC. Did you know Congressman Tom Reed could make sure Congress votes to extend tax cuts for the middle class and avoids the fiscal cliff, but he refuses. If Congressman Reed doesn’t act, the average middle class family will be stuck with a crushing $2,200 tax hike.

Why? Because Congressman Reed is holding the middle class hostage to get more reckless, budget-busting tax cuts for millionaires. It’s wrong.

It’s critical you make your voice heard. Demand that Congressman Reed get a vote to extend tax cuts for the middle class immediately, not hold the middle class hostage to get more tax cuts for millionaires. Go to to demand that Congressman Reed force the vote and avoid the fiscal cliff.

Paid for by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, (202) 741-1350.  Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.

The election has been over for about 5 weeks. It seems that the New NY 23rd will in the  cross-hairs of the 2014 campaign for a full two years.

(Let the New NY 23rd know if you get a call from the DCCC).
